Pastor Elector L Pearson

Pastor Elector was born in San Diego California, and shortly thereafter moved with his family to Tulsa, OK. It was in Tulsa at the age of seven that he gave his life to the Lord and excitedly served God in his local church. It was also in Tulsa that he discovered one of his passions, the saxophone. Without any formal training, but with a great deal of dedication, perseverance and practice, he found his way onto the music team of his local church playing beside one of his most admired saxophonists, Jerome Lee.

His obvious gift with the saxophone did not go unnoticed, and in 1991 he received a musical scholarship to the premiere Christian college, Oral Roberts University (ORU). During his undergraduate years at ORU, Pastor Elector, out of his love for God and God’s people, made a request to God: “Show me what You are doing around the world.” God answered. Throughout his years at ORU Pastor Elector traveled with ORU’s music ministry, Front Line, ministering in most of the states of the U.S. and worldwide in countries such as Russia.

At ORU Pastor Elector also spent several years as a Resident Advisor, a Head Resident Advisor, a member of the Vicarious Intelligent Persuaders, a member of the jazz band, and a saxophonist for the upbeat and popular Souls Afire. It was also at ORU that Rev, as he is affectionately known, met his wife, Dawn-Marie.

Upon graduating in 1996 Pastor Elector accepted a ministry opportunity with Belmont Church in Nashville, TN under the senior pastorate of Stephen Mansfield (best selling author of The Faith of George W. Bush). He became the Senior High Youth Pastor there, and for two years enjoyed ministry and missions with 400 of the most ‘on fire for God’ young people you would ever want to meet. It was also at Belmont Church that Pastor Elector and Dawn-Marie married in 1997.

With a heart to serve and assist in urban ministry, the Pearsons, with the blessing of their Senior Pastor and their beloved home church, left Nashville and moved to West Palm Beach, FL where Pastor Elector became the Personal Ministry Assistant to the Bishop of Redemptive Life Fellowship. At this time the Pearsons new that their ultimate call was to the islands of the Caribbean, and the mentorship they received at Redemptive Life Fellowship was invaluable preparation.

Before launching out to pioneer the work in the Caribbean, the Pearson’s moved to Tulsa, OK where the Lord provided them with another great stage of preparation. There, Pastor Elector, also an ordained minister, served as Youth Pastor at the church where he had given his life to the Lord 20 years prior. He was also privileged to host the annual Youth Azusa Conferences, which attracted thousands of youth from across the U.S. Oklahoma proved to be a rich time of preparation for future ministry.

By 2001, Rev and his family moved from Oklahoma to Barbados, where they founded Thankful Family Church with a vision to impact the lives of families and individuals with the transforming love of God. Pastor Elector is not your typical pastor and enjoys thinking, as he says, “outside the box, but inside the Book”. This is evident in his passion for impacting lives through avenues such as motorcycle ministry.

In addition to overseeing the work of Thankful Family Church, in 2006 he also mobilized team members to plant a church in St. Lucia. Speak Life Ministries, was founded by Pastor Eric and Katy Gash.

Pastor Elector and Dawn-Marie are the parents of four olive shoots, Elector III, Elijah, Eliam and baby Eleazar. As a family living on the promises of God, they live the famous Helen Keller quote “Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing at all.”
