About us
When you visit TFC on a Sunday morning, one of the things you will probably notice is the growing number of people who attend our weekly celebration services. These services are dynamic, engaging and authentic, as we celebrate the glory of a God who loves His people. You will find a relaxed and loving group of people … but it doesn’t end there.
At a closer look you will find that we are also a network of smaller groups called Life Groups. It is through Life Groups that we are able to give personal care and attention to every member of our growing church so no one gets 'lost in the crowd'. Our Life Groups meet mid-weekly in homes for Bible Study, discussion and laughter, and it is in these settings that enduring friendships and true community are established.
The vision & what we believe…
The vision
The vision of Thankful Family Church is to continually be a community of growing and thriving believers, and a place where the hurting, the hopeless, the discouraged, the depressed, the frustrated and the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement. It is a vision of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with hundreds of thousands of people throughout the Caribbean and the world.
At Thankful Family Church members grow together in spiritual maturity through Bible studies, seminars, retreats and fellowship, loving, laughing, and learning together, understanding God’s wonderful plan and living life to its greatest potential. An extension of this abundant life is the vision to send out hundreds of missionaries and church workers all around the world, and to spare head short-term projects to every continent.
Our vision includes the acquisition of acreage in the islands of the Caribbean to house beautiful yet efficient facilities, including worship centers, counseling/prayer centers, training facilities, and multi-media studios to produce cutting edge television programs and dynamic music. Our facilities will also house recreational and sports facilities, state of the art ropes course, family-friendly camping grounds, an adoption agency, communities for the elderly and ranches for troubled teens. All of this will be designed to minister to the total person, spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially in peaceful, inspiring settings with lush gardens, beautiful trees, effervescent fountains, sparkling pools and flowing streams.
We are confident this vision will continue to be realized because it is inspired by God.
We believe …
We believe in the eternal deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His appearance on earth through a virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His death to take away the sins of the world and restore right relationship with God, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal future return to earth in power and glory.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the fullness of the Holy Spirit as the empowerment of the Christian for witness and service. We believe that all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative and necessary for the church today.
We believe that the Bible is the Holy Spirit-inspired, authoritative Word of God and that it is eternally reliable.
We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that repentance toward God, faith in Jesus, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are necessary for salvation.
We believe that Christ is the head of the Church, His body. We believe that all who are born again are its members. We believe the church's purpose is offering worship to God; fellowship, ministry, and instruction to itself; and evangelism and service to the world. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in baptizing believers by immersion in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in God's continued calling on Israel, and we accept a calling to comfort, encourage, and stand with the Jewish people throughout the world (Romans 1:16; Romans 11:11-26).
We believe that God has entrusted to His church both the message and ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5), and we must be proactive in tearing down dividing walls based on racial, socioeconomic or denominational background.
